Admission Requirements
Minimum Admission Requirements
National Senior Certificate (NSC) with achievement rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in four subjects from recognised 20-credit NSC subjects. Minimum APS score of 26. Grade 12 certificate with bachelor/matric exemption required.
National Senior Certificate with achievement rating of 3 (40-49%) or better in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Achievement of the minimum requirements does not guarantee an applicant admission to any programme. Admission is competitive and subject to available spaces.

APS Calculation Rules:
- Life Orientation is NOT included in APS calculation
- Subjects with less than 40% will not be included in APS scoring
- If you have more than 7 subjects, only the 7 subjects with highest marks are used
- Minimum APS for bachelor's degree: 26 points

How to Apply for 2026
Online Application Process

Have ready: South African ID number, cell phone number, email address
Create a PIN consisting of 5 digits for your application
Scan and upload: ID/passport, Grade 11 report or Grade 12 results/matric certificate
Complete your application by pressing the 'submit button'
You will receive a student number upon successful submission

NO - 2026 Application For Admission and Residence is COMPLETELY FREE. There is no application fee for UNIVEN applications for the 2026 academic year.
Bachelor's Degree: Minimum APS score of 26
Diploma: Achievement rating of 3 (40-49%) or better in four NSC subjects
Certificate: National Senior Certificate (NSC)
Applications for 2026 close on 26 September 2025. Applications open on 01 May 2025.
Use the APS conversion table: 90-100% = 8 points, 80-89% = 7 points, 70-79% = 6 points, etc. Life Orientation is excluded, and subjects below 40% are not counted. If you have more than 7 subjects, only the top 7 are used.
